Bad Santa
Bad Santa
This is the funniest movie that I have seen this whole year. Everyone should go and see this movie. There is a little bit of cussing in it, so if you are offended by profanity don't see it. Billy Bob Thorton is absolutely hiliarious!! I swear I never stopped laughing the whole time.

That's the understatement of the week.
Congrats.

When the ads for both of these movies came out, I totally wrote them off. But now I'm a lot more likely to see them. First I found out that 'Bad Santa' is by Terry Zwigoff, who made 'Crumb' and 'Ghost World'. Then I found out that 'Last Samurai' is by Edward Zwick, who made TV shows like 'My So Called Life' and 'Thirtysomething', directed films like 'About Last Night' and produced films like 'Traffic'.
I've heard that 'Bad Santa' is way more twisted (in a good way) than the studio trailers/ads make it look. (The ads make it look stupid). Plus, I don't think Bernie Mac is desperate enough right now to be in a crap movie.
As for 'Last Samurai', the combination of Tom Cruise and the 'gaigin samurai' fantasy gave it lots of suck potential, but I've been hearing good things about it. Still, it won't be Kurosawa. (Maybe hold off on praising 'Last Samurai' until you've seen Kurosawa's film 'Ran' - it's an amazing film and shows up on a lot of "10 best films ever"-type lists. It might put 'Last Samurai' in a whole different perspective.)

Bacon is meat candy.
"Bad Santa" is VERY twisted and "dark" in a "WFT " funny way. I won't say anything about the details, so as not to taint your experience.
I will say this. 20 minutes into my viewing, a pair of mid-20's girls left and didn't return.
Bernie Mack has a very small part in the film, just so you're not expecting to see him throughout.

Hahaha, yeah I went to see it just because my friend wanted to, but I'm glad I did-- it was very different from your typical movie, and definitely funny in a WTF kind of way. It's worth giving it a chance if you're not against profuse cussing and political incorrectness.
