pigsteak wrote:thanks for sharing mayor...sometimes I get a bit embarassed by what I think I know about God and how it all works...perhaps the best we can all do is realize that our knowledge on the subject of spiritual matters is so limited, and that any who are truly seeking their place in this world should be applauded for taking the journey. I guess I only feel sorry for those who don't even take up the genuine search for truth, no matter where it takes them. (Then again, my pity is only a sign of my need to control...sigh...)

Going to church is a lot different than having a relationship with God. We go to church for fellowship with other believers. Going to church isn't one of the requirements to get into heaven (according to any bible I've ever read), but it helps you grow spiritually. Personally, I go to church as much as I can, but if I have the opportunity to go climbing--I go. I can have fellowship with my friends and enjoy His wonderful creation. Climbing is very spiritual for me. Church is too. When you look at church as something boring or something that REQUIRES your attendance--I suggest you find a new church.
Be modest--a lot was accomplished before you were born.

I honestly am glad to see the direction that this thread is taking. I thought that conventional believers were a truely rare thing in the climbing world. It's good to see that I am not alone in my beliefs.

Hey Pigsteak! you don't like what you read go jam a stick up your ass...... (don't make me post pictures of you)

My "hipicrit" remark was just me venting a little, I understand that some cristians do follow closely to what they "belive". I live with my grandma and holy shit dose she drive me crazy. Most people belive she is the most holy person they know, I know her much better and think she is more evil than "spiritual".

I love to hear all of your comments thanks for posting, a lot of things posted on this bored are just mumbling shit but I can tell some of you are really speaking your hearts. That shows a lot about who you are and is cool.

It's interesting to me that most of you are debating weather the bible is true....
And yet you all(most) agree that God is real?????
I've heard people argue for hourse using historical data to try to prove different things in the bible true or false.

The story of superman is easily more convincingly real than that of your god.
Its just somthing that has been pounded into your heads.
In an icolated inviorment a child could be raise to belive in the tooth fairy if it was belived by his parents and an entire mass of people being preeched at.

I personaly am open to anything in this world being possible, maybe the bible is all litiraly true, I'll belive it once I can prove it to myself.

What are you all baseing your belifs on??? The awnser is that you "just belive" right?
Or maybe you have experienced somthings that makes you belive in a higher power and since god is the most commenly excepted that you jump on bored.

I dunno, but I love asking questions and hear more and more oppinions.

Wake up people and stop blindly following.... Is beliving in somthing so contrived really worth the feeling of acceptance or worth???

How can you be worth anything if what you belive is so childish?
It is all a bunch of peer presure why don't you see it?

If you believe what you wrote jabba, then I don't understand why you asked your first question. If you believe faith= ignorance, why do you have a dilemma?
