Danny, The Specimen has an obvious mailbox slot about chest height on the right side of the crack. It starts as overhanging and flared and narrows to fists about eight feet up. It ends on a ledge probably 30 feet up and the is cake to the top. You come out right by the railings on the Skybridge trail.

Geez, I suffer from all types of memory loss but there may have been a mailbox
slot somewhere around there -- I'll have to ask Jason. I am 99% sure it was the next obvious crack to the right of Jack the Ripper. It definitely topped out right below the railings and we walked over and checked out the arch. The part after the ledge was easier once you got into it and the rock was real jagged/abrasive.

There was a crack a little further right that started as a distinct wide roof where you'd have to pull the lip. I was thinking that may have been it.

Man, I'm going to have to get my digital camera fixed. My memory is just too
darn unreliable.

Hmmm....well I don't think The Specimen is the next distinct crack to the right of Jack. That may have been what my friend called The Whistle Driller assuming t bone didn't do it 10 years ago. It's about 5.9 I think.

Oh yea....if you walk even further right you will see a big roof/dihedral thing called Pangaea. Goes at 5.11a. You will recognize it by the twenty pieces of gear we left for an anchor.
That thing is pretty cool.

Next time I'm up there I'll just do every crack to the right of The Whistle Driller and I'll be sure and hit The Specimen along the way :)

Yea, that's the one where you talk your boyfriend into climbing at the Red Thanksgiving weekend only to trap him into having Thanksgiving dinner at his mother's house.
Having you already sent that one?
:P
