the little things i appreciate are..

Post by Paul3eb »

sorry, i know this is predictable and possibly even sappy, corny.. what-have-you.. but still thought it'd be interesting

..evening sunlight on leaves

..thumb-catches

..salinger's ability to rant on in a run on sentence but keep the whole thing purposeful and illustrative

..mandolins

..manderin oranges (they just don't have enough of these)

..postcards from friends, even if it just says "hi"

..the way you can see your breath on a quiet winter night

..other people's eyes

..heel hooks

..the ability to wink (if you haven't noticed with my posts)

..phones and getting calls from friends about nothing particular

..coffee

..the passage of time ("and this, too, shall pass away")

i'll come up with more later

and great loves will one day have to part -smashing pumpkins

the self-conscious look strangers get when you stare at them and smile almost to the point of laughing. Priceless!

The way Hunter greets me at the door, with a huge grin on his face and just wiggles all over the place!
Just genuinely disengenuous.

random emails when I least expect them from friends I haven't gotten to talk to in awhile
We're all in this together
Walkin' the line between faith and fear
This life don't last forever
When you cry I taste the salt in your tears.

Little kids laughing (the very best thing in life)
A nice sunset.
The smell of supper cooking when I get home.
A Courtney hug
The fact that most of those are free

That goofy thing my Lab Gulliver does when he's bursting at the seams with happy.
Just found out it's called "butt tucking". Working through a route which I'd been anxious about my chances. Seeing an employee take charge and handle well, a job they had normally deferred to me. Two heads poking out the doggy door when I roll into my driveway. Looking out in the morning to see two dozen turkey are grazing my yard,or three deer (and the dogs don't know it!). Relaxing with friends around my fire pit on a cool evening.

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
