Check out the guides at Dr. Topo:
http://www.drtopo.com/illinois/jackson.pdf Jackson Falls sport/trad
http://www.drtopo.com/illinois/soill.pdf Souther Illinois bouldering
Because of very touchy access issues, there is no guide for the Holy Boulders - you need a local to take you.
Give me a moment, and I'll put up some of my photos from this weekend.

Yes Matt, you are correct. Thanks for pointing that out.wanderer wrote:My understanding is DR TOPO guides for JFalls sport and trad climbing is innaccurate and pretty much useless, use the Rockclimbing.com guide.
Tom, please verify that the Dr. Topo guide is incorrect by going to the guide I listed on rc.com, most of the info on that guide was uploaded by Jeff Stockton (pres. Illinois Climber's Association). His info is accurate. Dr. Topo went to Southern Illinois to boulder. His sport guide is second hand info from guys he was bouldering with.
Ray, I'd say the average route is 60ft if you are climbing 11's and 12's. Some are longer, some are shorter. It doesn't compare to the lengthy routes in the Red. But you won't find this much smooth sandstone in the red either. Ask t-bone about this cool mixed route that starts out as a 12 offwidth. He onsighted it. Pretty sick levitation. YOU LIKE SICK???
Not a bitch.

It is beautiful there. I think Foster Falls is higher and has a much greater flow to it.
If you guys decide to go, let Andy or I know. We can show you around.
Drapers and Cedar Bluff face south and can be good in the winter. I have the 2d ed. of Ulner's guide and yo may borrow it. 8)

Hell yeah! I'd like to thank everyone Sandy mentioned, plus Sandy! You all rule! Thanks, Hamsco, for being a badass and leading Mantle Route so I could follow it! I'm soooooo glad I got to climb today!
And Loren, you're a pussy. You should've come. You don't have to sleep on the doorstep, though. I'm working on that whole forgiveness thing our counselor was talking about.
