I am refraining from criticizing you only because my work has been slow the past 6 months and I've been screwing around a lot myself, but I simply don't understand what the hell you are complaining about.

I would like to accomplish something after 8 hours. I like to work. I'm just stuck at this job right now and I wanted to complain.

well it's BS that you can't finish your projects early and ask for more work. Pure and total BS and you know it.

Are you implying that you are the highest ranking person in your company. Even if you are reporting to someone that is only affiliated with your company does not mean that there is no one else that sees what you accomplish.

Oh good grief Wallnut, are you really this stupid? I am not the one complaining - you are.

I work inside a company that employs hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. General Motors. I do not work for them directly though. I am a contract work.(kinda like a temp) No matter how hard I work I do not get a raise (glass ceiling) or can be promoted. Hell I don't receive a car discount. (See my pet) So I decided after spending most of a week browsing that I was sick of my job so I would rant and post. I was expecting a little different from my audiance but oh well.

I can empathize with wallnut. I'm also an engineer and I am always looking for stuff to do. I have been waiting since July for another engineer to get something working that halts all my progress until
completed. I have similar situations in all the other projects just not as servere a wait. It's funny though, that SCIN said what he did because lately I've been branching out my skills during the down time. Hang in there walnut, learn what you can!

Ambition. Bottom Line. What are your goals? Have you defined them? Even though the economy is on the down swing at the moment, it will swing the other way eventually. Take this opportunity to decide what you want to be when you grow up! I'm just trying to find an emploer that will help pay for education so that I can go back! I finally made up my mind.
Just genuinely disengenuous.
