Road Bike wanted
Road Bike wanted
Anyone have a decent Road bike for sale or know of one? I took a “sick” day yesterday and decided to ride the mountain bike for a while. I got 30 miles in and was worn out. I forgot how shitty it is to ride a mtn bike on the road for any distance at all. I would like to stay below 400 or so. PM me if you know of one. Thanks
Tony hooked me up with an awesome bike. I commute via bike back a forth to work 14 miles each day (total) and I've no complaints about his workmanship. He took a average roadbike and changed a few parts here and there and made it into a work of art. He even added a plastic white basket with flowers!
We will be at the Red this weekend...maybe we'll see you and talk then. If not, you have my number.

For about $60 you can buy narrow tires for mountain bike rims.
Just don't jump curbs like you still have wide tires, or BOOM! Yes, I did that the first day I got new tires.
But seriously, it works pretty well.

Hey Scaife-- why'd you capitalize Trad, but not sport? Are you trying to stir the shit pot or what?

The longer the rides you're planning on doing, the more critical fit will be. Good fit on a road bike is probably harder than finding good fitting slippers. If you're planning on doing long rides (2 hours? 3 hours?) or riding several times a week, you should probably go to a really good road bike specialty shop and work with them on fitting. Bad fit can lead to fun things like blown knees, wrecked back or (wheeeeee!!!!) impotence. Even if you're just looking to do the occasional short ride, a good fit will make a big difference in the pleasure of your body being really synced with the bike - be picky about what you get.
There's nothing like flying over fresh asphalt on a great bike with 120psi tires!
