Am between batches of bolts and am considering possibly switching from 1/2 X 4 3/4 in. SS Power Bolts to Climbtech Legacy bolts. I haven't used Climbtechs but I know that both have been used a fair amount in the Red, so I'm hoping that someone who has used both could offer an opinion on their advantages and disadvantages.
One of the things that concerns me is that, having watched the Climbtech video on removing a Legacy, the way you remove the bolt doesn't seem a whole lot different than what could happen if the bolt were to loosen and continue to be used.
Anyway, appreciate (almost) any comments anyone might have.

The climb tech bolt is good, it can loosen way more than the power 5 piece before it would totally unscrew/fail. Easier to install too. 1 inch shorter than powers, so might not be as good for really soft stuff.

Legacy bolt is very nice. Did just as well as the powers in our 1 off tensile pull test. I don't think you have to worry more about it falling out than a SS powers bolt. Cost is a factor for us as well. However as Rockso, stated they are really nice to place with almost no hammering needed.

The lack of hammering is actually one of the things that makes me lean towards Powers. They can feel as solid as a piton before putting a wrench to them.

The hammering is the mechanism to set the cone to allow for tightening. The Legacy doesn't require that. If you do go with Powers, I would recommend using some Vibra-tite VC3 to help prevent loosening.

There has also been a group in Colorado that went to a 13 mm bit to prevent spinners and pretty extensive testing on it and worked with engineers at Powers. They have had good results that.

Have you run into much of a problem with Powers loosening? I've been using them for a few years and have been fortunate in that regard.
I'm not bolting anywhere near the Red. I tend to climb a fair bit in the Red, though, and posted here because I know you folks have plenty of experience with both types of bolts.
The thread-locker is probably a good idea. The only concern I can see off the top of the head is the chance that it may pick up a fair amount of dust while being driven in, and thereby increase the chances of a spinner. That hasn't been an issue, eh?
