Carter Caves wall

Post by routeriddler »

Hiked around Carter Caves for first time today. On one of the trails came across some signs about an "approved" climbing area with set of steps leading down, but top rope only with not bolted routes. I explored and found the wall to have decent options probably for the kid/family climb outing. Several potential routes that were 30~50' tall with some overhang, etc.... but no evidence at all of any climbing. Went back up top to the trail to explore the ridgeline (very easy access) and only found two sets of top anchors. People at the visitors center were pretty clueless about it but it clearly posts that you can top rope climb there. I'm curious if anyone has any beta about if there are other top anchors installed or any info about tested routes on this wall? This is a great park and would be great to climb here with the family. Any input appreciated!
