Family climb time Oct 26-29?

Post by nojesus »

Weather permitting, we'll be skipping school and taking our kids (baby, 5, 8) to the Red for the monday->thursday before Halloween. If it rains or is really unseasonably cold, we'll bump this to the next week.

We'll be doing a lot of sub-5.9's for the youngest up to 5.11 if we're feeling like falling a lot. Call it 4-6 hours per day. Muir Valley for those first two days, another at roadside and then whatever else we have energy for...

Any other families, or anyone who wants to climb at kid pace, want to join?

You're fine as long as you've got shoes and harness. We've got a pair of dynamic ropes, plenty of draws and other sport gear, so we can have a couple routes going at once. I'd rather flail and fall in the gym and not risk decking in front of the kids, so we're pretty conservative outside. Happy to climb with relative newbies.

PM or (more reliably) email me at climb@nojes.us if you want to hook up.

I am looking to get out with my wife and 3 year old son this coming weekend. It's more of a camping/hiking trip but would love to get a few routes in. Let me know if these dates would work for you and maybe we can make something work. My wife can climb up to 5.9 and I can lead up to 10s. Prefer trad but down with anything.

My wife, daughter (5 yrs old) and I are headed down this weekend as well. This will be our first time to RRG (mainly camping and hiking/crag scouting ) We are hoping to find some folks there to hang out with and try a few routes. If you don't mind being seen with some noobs, we'll be happy to be your buddies!
