Conservation Alliance Grant

Post by RRGCC »

Dear RRG Climbing Community,

Time and again you've shown everyone that you're the best climbing community out there. We need your help to do it again!

In April, we received a generous $35,000 grant from the Conservation Alliance. To complete the conditions of the grant, we need to raise a little over $10,000 in additional donations by December 31, 2014 to meet our match goal of $35,000. Before Rocktoberfest, almost $4,000 had been raised. Because you're all so awesome and didn't let a monsoon stop you from coming out, we raised another $21,000 towards the match at Rocktoberfest. We're almost there - but we still need your help to finish it out!

We challenge you, the community who loves this land, to help us reach the matching goal - by making a donation or by organizing a fundraising event in your area.

Please go to rrgcc.org/donate to donate, or to rrgcc.org/host-an-event to host a local fundraising event, and continue to help us in the mission of ensuring open access to climbing in the Red River Gorge!

To make a matching contribution towards the Conservation Alliance grant please use one of the Annual Donation buttons on the RRGCC website - http://rrgcc.org/donate/. A minimum donation of $25 is suggested. If we meet our fundraising goal, the money will be used to shorten the time of the Miller Fork payoff. Reaching the matching goal by the end of 2014 will also increase our chances of receiving another Conservation Alliance grant in the future. Other successful grantees have received up to $50,000 in additional grant monies from the Alliance.

Awsome.

I'm not the Christmasy type and I hate this time of year when people are asking what the hell you want for Christmas, like I've been keeping a wishlist since last December! The worst is when you feel obligated to get gifts for people just because you know they're going to do the same for you even if you tell them not to.

This year anyone who asks I'm just telling to make a donation to the RRGCC for me instead. I mean they were probably going to buy some Peruvian kid a goat in your name anyway!
