Best View in the Gorge for Beginners

Post by fujifame »

I am taking a couple of people to the Red this weekend that are just getting into the climbing scene. Does anyone have any routes that are 5.9 and below that have an awesome view? If not, we will probably just hang out in Muir and if they aren't picking up on it to well then we might head to Nursery wall. Any ideas?

Wow, I have been busy all morning looking up routes, thank guys! Let me further narrow the results though. As much as I would love to climb trad, my budgets don't really reflect the gear needed for it. So this trip will be sport climbing. I did look up some of those climbs though, and the view looks awesome!

It's a Wonderful Life at Pistol Ridge has a second set of anchors that lets you top out the pinnacle. Great views!

Bed time is always fun also.

You can pretty much walk up the back side except for one little skecthy spot. Probably 5.0 or 5.1

And there is a bolt near the sketchy spot you can fix a line to.

The view from Into the Purple Valley is one of my personal favorites.
