Spray for non RRG routes?

Post by Rx2Climb »

I feel like a tool for the story I am about to tell, but here goes.

Yesterday a good friend invited me to go climb at Red Rocks in December. I am definitely going, if we can make the trip work. Shamefully, my first thought when he brought up the trip was that I would not be able to add those routes to my spray.

This got me thinking.....why do I want to spray?
I think one of the major reasons I like to spray is that it helps motivate me to climb more and to try new routes. It also cool to look at your spray list and reminisce about routes. I haven't started worring about projecting harder grades yet....because I suck for now (serouisly look at my spray list).

On to the topic. I would like to see a way for climbers to add non RRG routes to their spray. These routes obviously wouldn't be worth any points and wouldn't be linked up to any descriptions or anything like that. This would allow climbers to keep track of all the routes they have climbed. It would be cool if you chould denote dates sent, location, name, grade, etc.

What do you all think?

It gets worse. You will be looking through your climbing pictures and have no idea what route you were on or where.

I've considered it but it wouldn't serve a purpose for the RRG which has always been the main focus for this site. There are other sites that allow it though like 8a and Mountain Project.

Thanks guys. I didn't realize that those other sites already had this. I will say that RRC is an awesome site and it would be cool to keep all my spray in one place (most of which will be at RRG crags).
