yellow brick road ?

Post by guyinjeans »

Does anyone know if a hold broke off this at the crux? Seems like there was a triangle section in the middle of the climb that had that fresh look about it.

don't think so. I was on it a couple weeks ago and everything seemed intact.

isn't the crux a credit card crimp and a serios high step?

I thought the crux was after the clip at the third bolt felt like something was missing but I'm just probably weak there seemed to be that look on the Rock where something broke recently directly above the third bolt about 3 too 4 feet right where you would need it

I was on it in October and thought it looked like something had come off in the crux too. I'm pretty long armed and it was really reachy. That spot looked fresh then and I asked the same question on the route description online guidebook. I was kinda hoping someone else would know. The folks I was with, none of us could remember if it was there years before. They are all considerably shorter than me, so I thought they would have remembered that move. They thought something came off too.

If you go out right at the 3rd bolt then up, which is how I've seen most people do it (though you can go left and traverse back), its always been very reachy. At 5'11" I had to hop a bit - couldn't stick it static. Crux for me was always staring a the slabby pendulum fall and deciding whether or not to just go for it.

yeah, so the first time I climbed it was only a year or two ago, so maybe something broke off it before then. the crux for me was the same as for rsd212.
