The Access Fund Conservation Team will be at Miller Fork on Saturday, April 26th! Come help with projects such as building a footbridge across the creek next to the MFRP parking area, installation of signage, and trail maintenance.
Lunch will be provided for our volunteers thanks to a generous donation by SEALgrinderPT http://sealgrinderpt.com/
Directions: from Miguel's, driving toward Beattyville on Hwy 11, take a left on Shumaker Ridge Rd, stay on it as it curves to the right (immediately after Sunrise Mountain Retreat and Angel Falls Rd and the green gate) and becomes Hell Creek Rd, then turn right (before crossing Hell Creek (there will be signs up by the trail day)) onto the road that will take you to the MFRP parking lot.

The road is really bad right now. I don't think I would take anything less than a subaru, but if you are one of those master 2wd off-roaders who doesn't mind if they beat up their car, then I say go for it.
Personally I would bring 4wd.

Agreed, the flat part of hell creek rd along the river is passable enough if you are careful, but the big hill getting down into the drainage was in bad shape last time I went down there.
Re: AF traveling conservation team visit, trail day
Any chance we could start up a carpooling list? I'd love to help out, but I'm not a fan of driving my 17 year old car on a road called Hell Creek.

Current soil conditions are the Hangup at this point (that's why we can't gravel the lot yet)
I'll see about getting it squared away prior. However if that don't work out we will figure out a carpool arrangements thanks for the info. It's amazing what a couple weeks will do to the roads.....

Spoke with the correct people this week. They have equipment inbound and should have the county and RRGCC portion repaired by the end of next week (weather, of course, permitting) Should be good for 2wd vehicles for the trail day. The wheels are also turning on the parking lot gravel but nothing in stone yet..... stay tuned, as I find out more I will send it out.

Woah Woah Woah. Slow it down! A footbridge, signage AND trail maintenance?!? Who do you think you are? We DO NOT want another Muir Valley! The Webers must be involved in this... John Muir would not approve!DriskellHR wrote:Come help with projects such as building a footbridge across the creek next to the MFRP parking area, installation of signage, and trail maintenance.
