I might be passing thru Boone (the one in NC) this weekend and was looking for some bouldering info. Feel free to PM or e-mail me if you don't want to post.
I'm looking for directions to some easy stuff, heard about Grandfather and Blowing Rock. Don't know whats there, or exactly how to get there. Don't worry not trying to scope out super secrect small stone or swipe anyones V23 probs.
Thanks all

I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
If you stop in Footsloggers in Boone, you can buy a map to the bouldering areas for $2.00. No boulders or problems are listed, but it will get you to the areas. Grandmother (not grandfather) is probably the biggest area. Pretty easy to get to as well. Just park at the grandfather mtn overlook on the parkway, walk south on the road past two wooden gard rails. At the end of the second, cross the road, and follow the trail up. This will put you in the middle, with problems up the hill, and to the right. Best bet is to start here, as there are a bunch of easier problems, and most people warm up here, so you can get more beta.
This weekend? I might head that way, just not sure. Let me know if you are going for sure, and when you will be there.

Sorry we missed you Steve, it was a kick ass, tip shreading two days for sure. Merrick and Climbhigh were sending fools. Charlie got a great intro into pure climbing. Got a great tour from Busta Saturday.
Perfect weather + Prefect rock + Perfect partners + Perfect problems = Two of the best days I have ever had climbing or bouldeing.

What a great week. That was one of the best trip I have ever been on. Everybody was pushing their physical/mental limits to the max, the energy was crazy. The crew had such a good vibe going on, it made you feel like anything was possible. Problems were falling left and right. I cant wait to get out with you all again. Thanks
Sorry I missed out, sounds like you guys had fun. I wandered around the boulder field looking for a mini Rob Zombie and a burly wavy haired guy, but no luck. I was hard to motivate myself to pebble wrestle after we had climbed on Stone the day before.
Stone was cool. Jill and I returned a year to the date and actually climbed routes. Did the ole U-Slot to Great Arch which both lived up to my expectations, U-slot no gear to lip, put in gear, pull lip, go to tree ledge....Great Arch = great back ache. We had a great time.
