PMRP single car accident

Post by true024 »

At around 830pm on Sunday September 2 a car flipped over at the base of the steep section of the hill going down to the motherlode parking area in the PMRP. I can't imagine it being moved anytime soon. Apparently the driver could not make it up the hill and proceeded to let his passengers get out of the car and backed down the hill in order to get more momentum. The second attempt failed as well and he began backing down again when undetermined circumstances caused him to move down the hill uncontrollably. The car went over the side and flipped a good ten feet down. The driver walked away and was fine but did take a trip to the hospital. I am curious how the car will be lifted out as well as if this will have any access impact.

Glad no one was hurt!

access? is it blocking the road? If its left took long it may get removed by the county but that would prolly take a few weeks for them to care enough.

FYI motherload parking is not the PMRP. Thats private land and the hill is county road.

Is it bad that my first reaction was laughing uncontrollably? Glad no one was hurt.

The driver is fine and the car was towed that evening. Don't know what happened with the brakes to cause him to lose control,he is a fine driver who knew what he was doing. Just a freak incident.

This place is not boring. Single car incident with dual wheel drive. Didn't the brush and trees prevent the car from going too far? I guess 10 ft is not that far.

Too add to what Mr. Driskell said, the "Mother Lode Hill" is actually Bald Rock Rd which is a county rd. which means it is under the jurisdiction of the local police department.

I wonder if this is why PMRP was practically empty on Monday? I guess sometimes it is good not to check the "news"

I think we might have to have a weight limit for those who want to go to the prmp...All those fatty cars and trucks that get stuck and have trouble making it up the hill can avoid this worst case scenario. Side note: it was the brakes that failed as the driver was backing down the hill...so quick reminder to everyone go get a brake check.

If only there was a back up to the break system of a car. You know, in case of an emergency
