Seriously, it hurts. I think I'm getting old. I pulled a butt muscle while heel hooking 5 months ago and it still hurts when I climb. Does anyone have any PT exercise recommendations?

Probably strained (micro tear) of Rectus femoris at the myotendinous (where muscle becomes tendon, often the weak link) junction of just before your ischial tuberosity. It is a pain in the ass and hard to get rid of. (pun and literal both intended). Sometimes ultrasound and deep friction massage can help to start a healing response.

I've blown out L5/S1 in my back a few times, once while heel hooking. Quite often (for me) the pain will manifest as a deep stabbing sensation in my gluteus, and the first time it happened I mistook it for a muscle issue.

Does the pain ever wrap around into your hip or travel down towards your knee/toes?
