About your dog.
J.H., have you noticed that nobody else at Miguel's has had problems with dogs, yet you've had problems with, what, three now? Hmmm...
And they might not be on the same scale where general opinion is concerned, but most dogs are a whole lot more loyal than most humans I've met.J.H. wrote:I don't understand why you would even suggest that dogs and people are on, even close, to the same scale.

Actually pepper spray doesn't always work on bears. Some bears like cayenne pepper.
to JH: if a dog bites you and has a history (one prior attack) of biting others,at least in Indiana, it won't cost you. The attorney you hire will take it on a contingency basis. The issue becomes what is the jury value of the injury: a couple of puncture wounds on a scraped up climber isn't worth as much as a child with permanent facial scarring. (I don't do that kind of work anymore so this isn't a solicitation). That may seem like a cold hearted analysis but that is how it works.
A different question, I think, is getting past the "how dare you" reaction. For Example: "how dare you have a dog that bites" how dare you for having a dog that scared me","how dare that car get in my lane while I'm driving 80 down I64"

I try to be a good man but all that comes
of trying is I feel more guilty.

Ya know, JH, I'm not concerned about my dogs biting you or anyone else. Our dogs don't bark, instigate confrontations with other animals, and they leave people alone.
Yet I find your post threatening
I feel that certain people give off vibes that dogs can read and your vibe seems to freak dogs out. I bet that, in all actuality, these dogs feel threatened by you.
So as far as I'm concerned, just to be fair, if you come by me or my dogs at the crag I will personally assault you. I don't want my dogs to feel threatened and will do whatever I can to protect them.
So go to the photo album and make sure you recognize pictures of Tika and Maizy on page 1.
Don't come near my dogs, bitch.

Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.
My dog does not bite and rarely barks. She is annoying if there are other dogs at the crag with which she wants to play b/c she will harass them mercilessly and stir up dust. This is a problem if there are others at the crag who don't like this and I try to be aware of that and tie her up. If she then whines or barks, I sit with her until she is settled. What is irritating is that I will yell at her to lie down. I know that it is noisy and bothers some people. I try but as always, it's not perfect.
It is greatly annoying to have barking, aggressive dogs at the cliff. Yasmeen and Artsay, I have to say that there are aggressive dogs around the crag. Dakota has been attacked a few times. I think it's because she's big and dogs are threatened. It's frustrating and scary when that happens. She has also defended a baby against a dog, which was cute but scary too. I prefer to have dogs at the cliff and will continue to bring my dog but to watch her as closely as I can.

Jesus only knows that she tries too hard. She's only trying to keep the sky from falling.

Maizy has been attacked too. I'm not blind to what a good vs. bad dog is. I have no tolerance for bad dogs and will never own a bad dog because they piss me off. Common sense will tell you that aggressive dogs should be on a leash and unfortunately some owners don't have that.
But I've also been witness to a nice dog feeling threatened by a shady character and how that dog will respond. If JH truly has been bitten several times then I honestly feel he emits a threatening vibe to dogs. And if that's the case then even my good dogs may feel threatened by him and act out of character around him. Given his threat, I'm not going to allow that to happen.

To be fair, one of the dogs that bit JH, was tied up under the shelter where people congregate, and snapped at me twice for no reason. Im as nonthreatening as anyone. We both had a talk with the owner and I havent heard of any more problems. I am fine with dogs that behave .It's dog owners that deny their dogs are out of line that piss me off. If your dog has bittin anyone, leave it at home.If its as loveable as Raven, bring it along.
