Good thinking. That way when sexy time comes around she'll already have a tweezers handy for your handy.

mix some tea tree oil (essential oil) in with your shampoo- about 2-3 drops per ounce, use 2x a week and you probably won't get ticks.
or tea tree oil + water sprayed on your clothes works pretty well too.
I've been doing it for a while and never gotten ticks in the red, even when my partners are covered in them.
I may just taste bad, but my hippie friends use it and it works for them too. If you try it out, let me know.

Bad advice. Applying heat causes the tick to vomit what is in it's digestive tract greatly increasing your risk of an infection. Dustin has the right beta. Tweezers with slow gentle pull.

Last year they were super bad at the Lode. My dog picked up dozens of them over a couple weekends last spring. I havent seen any this year, but my buddy found 2 on himself after climbing at the lode.

I walked around the pond at lago linda's a last spring. I picked 21 ticks off my legs during that walk.
