MV attracts gumbies like flies to shit. It has a significant proportion of the easier sport climbs in the Red and are in dense concentration. Additionally, MV is known for being "we'll bolted". Combine all that with a high visitor average and you have the perfect mix for more accidents, if that is indeed the case.

Rick and Liz also recognize that and offer free educational seminars through our the year as well as developing a top notch volunteer emergency response program.

Micheal, I really don't think muir is the most visited climbing area in the country/world, which the AAC covers... I think you have A LOT of fact checking that needs to be done, but nice try to justify it.

You and c2c are right about the new climber flocking there... Who made it that way? You make a place feel like a gym, then you are going to get those types... Which is a problem. I do think it is cool that they offer classes, but how many really take them up on it.
I don't have haters, I have fans in denial.

I was only suggesting it was the most visited in the red. And 6 accidents for 30000 climber days is 1 accident per 5000 climbers. Help me out with my fact checking and show me this is significantly above the average....
I've been a gumby longer than you've been climbing.

As the new treasurer for the FoMV board I'd like to thank all of the individuals who recently donated. Thank you so much for you support! Additionally, I'd like to add that the new board is developing an ongoing communication plan for our supporters and the general climbing community. Our long term goal is to provide perspective and updates into the many projects FoMV supports.
Here is a link to our website for anyone interested in supporting FoMV.

Go fuck yourself clif. If you really want to help, then actually get involved with this volunteer-run organization instead of shitting yourself all over the internet.

Yes, this.^^^

I'm not a huge fan of a lot of Muir's (not Miur, unless you are thinking about Miuras? Those shoes kick ass) approach– the manicured trails, signs, bolt spacing; everything about it is basically making a developed city park that caters to the lowest common denominators of climbing. However, I still climb there on occasion, and give the Webers cash every year. You know why? Because if Muir ever closes, the precise demographic that they cater to (huge college groups who want to gang-rope ugly vertical walls) is going to flood into the rest of the gorge. And that will suck.

So give the Webers money. Stop complaining.

But have you done Dreamthiever, Renegade, Tradisfaction, No Bones about It, and In a Pinch, Paul? And seriously, some of the best 5.12-5.13 sport routes in the Red are found at the Sanctuary, Midnight Surf, Solarium, and (shameless plug) Ivory Tower...
