Tapeworm Perma-Draw Extension

Post by true024 »

Why does Tapeworm (Midnight Surf 12d) Have a long chained perm-draw at the first big move? Perhaps fifth bolt? (only one with an additional footlong chain with draw). Im always wrestling the draw from behind my back when I clip. If it is to clip from the bat hang I would like to initiate a poll to get it removed. Just hurts the flow of the route and does;t look very nice. But what do you all think??

Can't you just hang your own draw if it is a problem? Then when you are done projecting pull it.

Just so you know, you are not allowed to remove hardware in Muir Valley no matter how relevant/irrelevant you deem it. If you really don't like it, don't climb the route or don't clip it.

I wasn't recommending pulling anything. Merely placing your own draw on it too...

There is a brand new, slightly shorter draw at that spot following Brentucky, krampus, Symon & Ricky's work there on last weekend's trail day. I agree the old chain & draw in the face looked sketchy & awkward, so I donated an extended climbtech draw to the route.

Sounds good. Thanks for the input and donation dustonian. As well as thanks to all for the hard efforts over the weekend at trail days.

It's about 2 inches shorter than it used to be, but it should still be clippable from the big jug below for the majority.
efil lanrete... i enjoy the sound, but in truth i find this seductively backward idea to be quite frightening

I would actually think the webers would want us to pull gear we deem sketchy.

The chain draw wasn't "sketchy" from a safety standpoint, just awkward.

Yup. No need for it to be that long.
