On second thought I need to give Larry the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he meant they are indeed human so it is worth helping over there. Thing is, I don't think we are helping.

That's exactly what I meant. Wouldn't have thought the "benefit of the doubt" would have been necessary to interpret the post. Unfortunately you are right. It is not at all clear that the feckless efforts of recent administrations has actually benefited the people. We help depose a mad man and a monster and in his wake Islamists rise to power. We may be damned if we do and damned if we don't.

i'd just like to highlight how this is one way a 'well armed public' can safe guard their freedoms and liberty, from the other thread.
