Restrooms for Muir Valley!

Post by weber »

Anne Altor, a energetic member of the Friends of Muir Valley group, succeeded in winning a generous grant award from the Access Fund to help with funding of vault restroom facilities in the Valley at Muir.

Thank you very much, Anne, for all your hard work in making this possible and to the Friends of Muir Valley in carrying this project forward!

Work will start this fall on the first of two planned additional restrooms to be located at convenient spots on the floor of Muir Valley. With over 30,000 annual visitors, the impact on the land is just too great to continue with the only restrooms being at the parking lot, a rigorous hike from the climbing areas. It will be nice to have these restrooms in place before the problem of human waste contaminating the Valley becomes more serious.

Are they the composting kind? Used one at Smith. Poops really comfortable and composts your dooties - very earth conscious pooping. I swear I think I saw Mitt Romney coming out of it before I went in. Super nice guy - held open the door open for me and everything. really really nice dude. Of course I didn't have the nerve to say something like "Wow! You're Mitt Romney!" or something like that, but I'm sure it was him - and using a composting potty at Smith Rock. Not that there aren't lots of Mormans out there because there are, but not using a composting potty. I was very impressed with both. Anyway nice to see a well located improvement - good work guys.

Those toilets at Smith Rocks even smell good, but if you are Mitt Romney, your shit doesn't stink anyway, so you could just go anywhere.
