Re: deep water soloing 2009
Anyone know which boat ramp is best to use at laurel lake (I.e. closest to good climbing)?
Re: deep water soloing 2009
Grove would be your best bet for launchin close to rock....once you get out of the no-wake head left and pick something to climb....you can head to the three sisters for something taller but they are far away and not alot of climbing around them.

Doogievlg is on it. Just be careful out there. Check the areas you are climbing over for shallow rocks. The water is still up a bit. There is also some taller stuff up Craig's Creek, but the stretch between Grove Marina and Holly Bay Marina will keep ya busy for awhile.

i think the ban on DWS at Summersville is the greatest travesty against freedom in this country since, like, my HR representative at work. whatev. anyway, i'll get naked and climb as a demonstration of civil protest/nonviolent action/civil disobedience. also, i'll wear a bathing suit if anyone cares to join me.
training is for people who care, i have a job.

I climbed down at Luarel for a long time 2 weeks ago and noone said a word...there was a good number of drunken hillbillies to spectate though and they were sure to tell me all about the trails to the tops of the rocks. The only thing I would look out for is snakes and snapping turtles, I dove down to check out my landing and ended up with my face about 4 inches from a snappers jaws of sure death.

If anyone heads down to Laurel and wouldn't mind me tagging along I would love to climb there.
