To further derail the thread, I love and miss you, Dad! May your new approach shoes carry you comfortably as you walk ever farther from us, deserter. ;)

It would be hilarious to watch THC dog his way up some hard stuff in Rifle or Jailhouse without using the kneebars.

Miss you too young lady! It's been a little cool here lately, no worry though we just throw another roll of paper towel in the fireplace. We have found the old growth virgin giant redwood paper towels burn better then the cheap recycled ones do. The recycled ones seem to smoke more too........that can't be good for the environment. Anyway, got to go throw another tire on the fire and beat a few baby seals.

IMO, (you obviously respect that by your previous posts right?) Kneebars are cool by the way, if you dont use them don't, no different then any other skill. Is using a hand jam on a sport route or crimping on a splitter crack cheating also? Pushing your climbing "ethic" by attempting to belittle others is done to inflate ones ego, the very definition of "lame". It's just rock climbing dude, we are not saving babies in Africa.

Now that the thread is derailed we may as well continue.
who says my skin is tender? yes, hand jamming, even on splitters in indian creek is cheating, crimping is cheating, and I save a baby every time I tie in, you don't?

i'm just messing with you man, i think your feathers got more ruffled than mine...

dustin, first of all, THC?? was that typo intentional?

2nd of all, everyone knows jailhouse is a choss pile and its super soft...

rifle is a choss pile too... i won't use kneebar's there because there isn't any "hard stuff" there.

ok, i've been a dick lately and i've been shit talking a lot... it's all in good fun... my bad, my bad, i'll lay off with my unproductive comments. sorry if i over-stepped my boundaries. are we all cool? ok, sweet, thanks.

now then, where were we??

some say the evolv cruzer is good, some are set on the sportiva boulder x, the 5.10 guide tennie is hip in some places right now. and some say we should just go into a gear store and try on a bunch of approach shoes and pick out whatever fits best... good summary? i think this topic is pretty tapped out, new thread?

p.p.s. - i actually love knee bars, and hand jams, and all that jazz... if you run into me at the crag, i'll be the one saying, "i found this sweet hand jam rest" or, "oh, thank god for that kneebar"
