Regardless its a good point to make as it has killed climbers in the past. Frankly I had no idea a merchant could sell you a spliced piece of webbing if you asked for a specific length, and I'd venture to guess I'm not the only one who was oblivious.

It seems that speculation is everywhere:

"State police in Highland said that the Prezant's harness had come undone."

Yeah........ right.

Seeing as how Rick does lots of search and rescue stuff it seems pretty likely that he actually knows somebody that does the same at the gunks and was on site after the incident which would explain why he seems to know what nobody else on the Internets does.

Rick posted to raise awareness and save lives.

Rather than call bs, why don't you send him a pm.

Why all the preaching on this forum but none over at the gunks forum? You know where all that other speculation is. Odd concept that the potential for someone to be stressed triumphs over the dissemination of information that could prevent a fatality. +1 ^

STFU
He never specified what accident he was talking about, it may or may not be this one. Who cares? what he posted was relevant no matter what happened where. Details are for gossip, quit being a little girl.
How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
