Looking to climb this weekend

Dookie, I appreciate your ability to think. I have heard its bad on here, I just didn't know it was this bad.

New to the site? I'm pretty sure I joined in 2004 and climbed there well before I joined here. I climbed at the red continuously for years, but haven't climbed much due to life. Climbing has changed so much in a sad sad way, Miguels is pretty much a circus and the climbing community has become this. It is a joke. The people on this site are responsible for the downward spiral. There is no respect for what climbing should be. I fully support the decision to close those areas based on what I heard. One idea.... close the entire red until climbing isn't cool anymore, let the children disburse, let everyone forget it is a gym, and then reopen it years later without all of the nonsense.

I do fully support the RRGCC fully in their efforts and they are doing a wonderful job. We have been fighting access issues for years (I remember climbing at pocket wall and oil crack before it was closed). The sad thing is that a small few can ruin it for everyone. I just see that few becoming a majority.

Some sincere comments...

1.). Expect to take shit on this forum. If you can't laugh at it and give some back, then I would avoid this site.
2.) Most of the people that are on this board are the people that... Build the trails, develop the routes, donate their time and $$$, practice LNT ethics, have been climbing at the Red well before this site, are stewards of ethics and education, and are don't frequent Miguel's (at least past 10 pm)
3.) If you want to find climbing partners and save on gas money, head to VA and get to know the climbing crew there. Many of the regulars climb on Tues/thurs nights. A group goes down almost every week end.
4.) quit living in the past. Climbing has changed. But if you don't like something about, step up and DO something to be a positive influence on the sport.

I am pretty sure it was the houses above dropping shit down. Be careful climbing there. They have been dumping logs near the edge to get a better cliff view. Their septic systems don't seem to be working either. Sewage leaks down the cliff as well.

Observation is this: Roadside closed why?

... Unfortunately, it has become a trashed out area that defeats the overall intent of preserving it. Without our intervention it would only become worse and that is absolutely unacceptable to John and I, and it should be for everyone who visits there.

Per Ians comments above, I am sure all the people trolling on here do a lot of work on the trails, promoting, fundraising, etc. and I really respect that, but acting like dipshits may just promote more dipshits.
