Really not a lot of hope of finding this, but it is a funny story none the less.
This happened in january....i am finally unashamed enough to post about it, mostly because i miss my key fob.
If you happen to find a pontiac key with a key fob, on a blue not safe for climbing key chain biner it belongs to me.
Location: dip wall parking area/campsite.
Problem: It was the only key i had to my car.
We camped down there and had good intentions of climbing the next day (sunday). not destroying a campsite looking for a car key. so once we gave up on looking, i started to get on the phone to see if i could at least get my car towed to a safer place. 38 miles away was the closest place my insurance company would pay for, but they couldnt get ahold of anyone to come out there on sunday. so connundrum. do we leave my car packed full of climbing gear in BFE unattended? i had no choice, these guys were getting ancy to get back on the road.
i was with a group of 4 guys who had to pack me (minus my gear) into their overstuffed car back to lexington, but i am forever grateful for the ride. Then, my dear sweet husband drove me back down there to clean my car out, and get me a parking pass for leaving my car for a few days.
Good news is i did get a key that worked remade from the dealer, really was crossing my fingers when we got down there that it would work. (surpisingly inexpensive!! 16 bucks!!!) so 2 days later i did get my car back, with a key that works.
so....have a good laugh about crappy luck....and me living up to my nickname
