Eric - you are seriously one cool dude. Your excitement is contagious and you are crafty as crafty can be. This looks great and I love what you did with Elodie's van too. You've got skillz! :D

Looking great Eric. I love coming down and seeing the progress on an almost weekly basis.

Thanks Guys!
I feel so lucky to be apart of this. Of all of the work that I have done in the years I have lived here in the Red, this project by far means the most to me. It's a labor of love for sure. Not only are the Tackett's some of the finest folks I know, but before the fire I saw first hand the positive impact that Red River Outdoors had on this community. Not just the climbing community, but all of eastern Kentucky.
heavyc wrote:I am looking forward to having some more French toast at your place, too bad that with all of the das Krue's wonderful endeavors there will be sooo many fewer climbers to potentially be your customers
It runs way deeper than a few climbers stopping in for a good breakfast or having a place to tap the internet. Thank God there are other groups that come here besides a bunch of drama starting, rock climbers, and thank God that there are business owners that see that! Actually, the majority of climbers I meet are not that way, only a few of you are.

Clif, as soon as we can get the doors open we will. Even when everything goes right, commercial construction always takes forever because of all the permits that have to be obtained. You can't shortcut the process on a public building. Add to this the fact that this is eastern KY where time stands still. We're waiting on approval of the electrical and HVAC drawings now. Everything has to go through Frankfort on new commercial work. On top of that is Matt recovering from surgery(s). The rough-in plumbing has passed inspection. Once the other utilities are in, drywall and paint will go fast. The entire resturant has been outfitted with a new floor. No more leaning as you walk across the room!

Half of the new floor being framed.

The new floor, as flat as a Pancake!

We still have a few small inside walls to build too. They are now looking for furnishings, tables, chairs, ect. Spread the word. If you know of anything that might be of use, let someone here know.
Thanks again and keep checking back for updates.

Not a rumor Kipp.
True north is re-opening. Jeff Kennedy and John Hight have purchased the building and are going to run the place again. I believe the name is going to be called, Pine Ridge Station. They are going to run the Hostel and Guide service along with their neighbors, KRAG
