The Road to Sore Heel
The Road to Sore Heel
If I understand correctly, this year's Rocktoberfest should make the final payment on the PMRP. I know that Bald Fork is county, but can we please throw some money towards getting that road properly fixed once the property is paid up? With the road in such poor shape, it feels like we are not allowing folks to get back there and use their land.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
I agree 100%! I think it definitely turns people off going back there. Whoever made the trail from the first parking lot back to Sore Heel parking did a fantastic job though. (I believe it is part of the biking trail.) I think perhaps their are some issues with repairing the roads where the oil lines run, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
Considering that the parking lot was overflowing last weekend, I don't think it's keeping too many people out. Also you can park at the top of the hill and walk in. Same as going to Muir and walking in to the solarium.
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
Was back there last weekend... People are getting back there no problem ( to the point that there was no parking left and people were parking up by curbside) I drive a low clearence car and make it back there no problem. For the people that dont know how to drive on the off roads and get stuck sorry, maybe you should park up at the top of the hill and learn to walk insted of screwing the roads up more...
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
sorry for making the obvious suggestion. the road sucks and I have a high clearance 4WD.... now people are trying to drive around the deep puddles, making it even worse.....
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
Trail day to do road work!
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
One again... no reason to if you know how to drive. Besides not fixing the roads cuts down on the amount of people at the cliff... Less traffic less damage to the roads.
Re: The Road to Sore Heel
I might try to use this in my neighborhood with all the potholes and people complaining. yeah I pay property taxes, but don't worry about road maintenance..I know how to drive around them. the huge difference here is that by the shape of the road, people clearly do not know how to drive, and since climbers are the ones who own the property, just thought it might be a decent idea to allow them access to their cliff..if it was private property, I'd agree with you.fyj434 wrote:One again... no reason to if you know how to drive. anyway, I'll drop it....seems to be a non issue to most on here.

Re: The Road to Sore Heel
I like the shitty road, keeps a lot of people from going there...
I don't have haters, I have fans in denial.
