[never heard it called the 'quarry' but the reservoir]
i've not been there and seem to remember someone telling me that there is no swimming allowed, like Mill Creek lake. i guess the question could be how much enforcement there is for people being wet without government sanction. apparently you can throw as much hook, line, and sinker garbage in them as you can if you buy a license, so maybe you could plead some 'recovery' argument?
Lago Linda's is deep enough to hold some cool water at the deep end (~10-14 feet?) through the summer.

Guess we will just have to wait until the muir valley water park goes in.

another option is the settling pond by Coal Bank Hollow. the RRGCC actually owns half of it. take the left hairpin at the top of the short hill at the start of Coal Bank and follow that road around until you see the pond and an obvious path down. i've swam there a few times. the bottom is a little mucky and probably full of heavy metals but its refreshing
Sand inhibits the production of toughtosterone, so get it out and send.

As long as there aren't broken beer bottles and trash everywhere, I can deal with the eye candy...
