Unless you are have the option of climbing somewhere cooler, who cares? Climbing outside on a hot humid day is still better than... not climbing outside on a hot humid day
Re: Too hot to climb in June?
good point, but if you want to improve at climbing, June is probably the time to train indoors as opposed to slipping off of greasy holds on routes 2-4 letter grades below your past peak
Re: Too hot to climb in June?
Yesterday and today had the best conditions in since March.

I'll second that, perfect climbing weather! Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's going to stay that way...

Only took me 16 years to figure that out. Where were you then, heavyC?
Can't we all just get along?
Re: Too hot to climb in June?
to be honest with you I forget this bit of wisdom almost every year and then regret it when the good temps arrive and I am either burnt out on climbing or hit my peak 3 weeks too early
Re: Too hot to climb in June?
Seasonal climbing is lame. There is so much more to the experience than the numbers...if you send a hard grade, cool, if not, then there is still plenty of fun to be had regardless!

Re: Too hot to climb in June?
Have to agree with Dustin. I don't get out quite as much in the summer and actually find it a good way for me to train. I don't drop on endurance as much and everything feels easier come fall. I find I have to have better footwork, body position, and contact strength to do the same moves during spring/fall. So in that regard, I think summer climbing makes me a better climber.
Re: Too hot to climb in June?
I just like being outside as often as possible, climbing helps
How you compare may not be as important as to whom you are compared
Re: Too hot to climb in June?
why is seasonal climbing any more lame than climbing year round...if a person finds their fun in training indoors during the summer....big deal.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.
