How steep is the undertow wall?
How steep is the undertow wall?
I have been working on an endurance training plan using a treadwall in preparation to spending 6 weeks at the Red this summer. I am trying to figure out the approximate angle in the middle of the undertow wall. Using a pic from a rope on skinboat, I estimate 24.5 degrees. Has anyone else done any calculations on what the actually steepness is? I want to train at a slightly steeper angle, so I have been doing 8-10 minutes, and about 120 ft at 30 degrees overhang. Any input would be appreciated.
Re: How steep is the undertow wall?
I was out there with HeavyC awhile back and we hooked an inclinometer (sp? (is that even a word?)) to a stick clip and put it up to I think Ale-8 and it was closer to 30. It doesn't seem like it is that steep, but that is what it said.
Re: How steep is the undertow wall?
Just err on the steeper side and the undertow will feel more like a vertical one.
Re: How steep is the undertow wall?
I didn't believe the wall was that steep but it consistently measured between 30-35 degrees
Re: How steep is the undertow wall?
There's an app for that...on android...not sure about iPhone
Re: How steep is the undertow wall?
Was that measured on lower part of wall, as it is steeper there, and gradually lessens in angle towards the top
Re: How steep is the undertow wall?
The inclinometer was put on a stick clip that was extended to get a better sample area. I believe it was done either from the small ledge where Chainsaw starts or at the first bolt. I can't remember. Definitely the lower half of the wall where its steepest.
