I think that the road is slipping in front of the State Park just down from Miguels. Since ALL climbers obviously use that road we need to contribute to the fixing of said road. All contributions can be made to www.kentucky.roadrepaircontributions.gov
I think they take paypal and all major credit cards.

If you give a man a match, he'll be warm for a minute. If you set him on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

Lee County is actually pretty good about fixing roads...in fact, it's one of the only things they do well. Right Fork/Larimer has been jacked up multiple times this winter/spring and they were generally on it within a week or two.
Re: The road to Sore Heel...
Has anybody been out to Sore Heel in the last day or two? Is the road passable yet?
Re: The road to Sore Heel...
Chuck Mangione was out there the other day, hanging with Chuck Norris and Chucky, cooking their dinner on their chuckwagon, looked like chucksteak

Somewhat == I can get my car through there? Or does it mean I need to bring my tank.
Because I''ll bring the tank if I have to.

Re: The road to Sore Heel...
It's still pretty bad, but it's passable for cars with clearance. The road to the Motherlode lot is in fair shape, but from the Lode to the Drive-by lot was pretty rutted and muddy as of last weekend (5/1/11). I wouldn't recommend it without clearance, the ruts are pretty deep and in certain spots there's no avoiding them. Parking at the Lode and walking is a decent option if you're unsure, getting stuck and having to call for help sounds like a really unpleasant option. Or better yet, donate to the RRGCC so they can payoff that mortgage and start raising money for improvements to these roads
