Exactly... we do not own a parking lot for that trail, so advising the masses to park there is not a good idea.

We parked at the motherload lot and the lot at the top of the hill only had 2 cars in it around 3 Sunday. It was a 20 min hike to volunteer wall from the motherload lot using the foot bridge.

I think paying taxes (gas, sales and property-if you own in Lee county) plus patronizing local businesses(Koops, philz, beer trailer and beer store) is compensation enough to truck a grader or back hoe down a county road to fix it.

Werd. not sure what the cost analysis is for increased tax revinue vs. road repair is but I could see it going either way. While rain delt the final blow, that particular section of road has been going for a while now and hundreds of cars driving over it on a weekly basis in all conditions probably did a lot of structural damage.

we're spoiled. most climbing destinations do not have such short approaches. maybe we should learn to use our legs more.

close the road, have Philz put in a pay to park lot, and makes everyone walk every crag along that road.

But I own in Lee County, have a farm there, so do I get a pass to drive in since I pay local taxes? :)
