Re: Guides at Military today
I have sent an email to the USFS, DBNF asking if MetroRock has a guiding permit. There will be an update on LAC and the CMP at the upcoming Coalition meeting.

Thanks Bill. When is the meeting?
Re: Guides at Military today

Maybe we need to just agree on a grade limit for large groups. If it is, for example, under 5.11a it is open for groups. If you are on a rock climbing forum, calling yourself a rock climber, and complaining because someone hogged the 5.10a, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Whether or not it is OK to bring a group that size is under investigation. If it turns out they didn't have permits or can't bring a group that size then shame on them and whatever is the result, so be it.
Look, there was once upon a time when the amount of entry level sport routes at the Red were few and far between. When I started climbing we went to Global Village every weekend for like the first 3 months because it contained the only bolted 5.6. (We didn't know there were other "harder" sport routes that were likely easier than Eureka). There is no shortage of easy routes now, just go to another cliff. 12 climbers split between 3 guides doesn't seem unreasonable.
