I don't get you two... seriously. What part of this don't you get: Currently, Dr. Bob is not interested in any type of solution involving anything to do directly with his property.Clevis Hitch wrote:why not you, you're all fired to volunteer someon. Clevis, I am sure it would be possible to create a group of stewards, that would be willing to climb and keep an eye on things, if they were climbing there for the day. I know I would volunteer for that a day or two a month. But for now, it will continue as status quo until, (or if ever) Dr. Bob feels differently. However, friends of Dr. Bobs that do get to climb there should be watchful and willing to step up, question and educate.
Now seriously, end this thread.

When you get in Torrent legally drop some cash in the box. Ditto for Muir. Treat the place better than your own place. What does this mean? Well for example, if it were your own place you would pick up other people's trash and you would voice your opinion about somebody else screwing things up.
When Bob bought Torrent he saw a lot of impact and enacted a management plan that split the difference between 1) closing the crag on one extreme and 2) leaving it open to further uncontrolled access/ impact on the other extreme. His plan is generous and intelligent. I saw his post as nothing more than a reminder to all.
If you go to the online guide at the Torrent site it says: "Torrent Falls - CLOSED TO PUBLIC"
The offending comment in the comments section begins, "A farce to try and get into, consider it a private crag". This is laughable! Why not consider it a closed crag like the title indicates in bold caps? There is a way in, but you are going to have to work a little at it and you are going to have to be a little lucky. Access is controlled. If you get in be respective and have a good day. If you don't get in go somewhere else. The Red is a big place with lots of climbing.
There really is not a problem here. Bob is just trying to stick to his management plan and Clevis' only mode is combative hence the quagmire.

Re: Who does it belong to?
agreed. this thread would have been done in 2 pages if not for the overanxious pot-stirring.
Re: Who does it belong to?

Oh, I see, I caused this mess. I haven't been to Torrent in years. Don't wanna go through the hassle. Even if I did go there I wouldn't shit in the yard!
Maybe I wa just pointing out the obvious hypocracy. Whats up Art!
