This is the part in Lost where Jacob shows Ricardo the wine jug and describes how the wine represents hell and the island is the cork. Isreal is the cork. Is it red or white that goes with fish?

Muslim extremism. that's what i'm confused about. since we've covered god and mid east politics and spring is practically here, i figure we have a day or two to set the record straight on whether killing and war is moral, amoral or immoral, and if god weighs in. please, keep your answers short.

A+

...but i'd want ramsey's opinion. i'm trying to envision the nonviolent reaction to being justifiably homicidalicious. pacifism is such a subdominant drag, like rashes, and bug bites. moral is what's commonly agreed upon by ideally psychologically identical actors. the company of thieves? of course, it helps to have diplomatic immunity.

Crankmas wrote:Muslim extremism was a product of the twenties, it originated in Eygpt, it was galvinized by Zionism, at the expense of the Palestinians, whom are simply pawns, they are more akin to Jews than arabs and have been shunned by ALL neighboring arab countries, the foundation is arab nationalism that is contrary to tribalism and despotism that arabs' have lived under for centuries, America gots its taste of this extremism with the muder of RFK, but no one at the time connected the dots.

alright Wildman, i think i've ID the source of your thinking... tell me straight if i'm wrong.

from the wiki...

The Society of the Muslim Brothers (often simply الإخوان Al-Ikhwān, The Brotherhood or MB) is an Islamic transnational movement and the largest political opposition organization in many Arab states. The group is the world's oldest and largest Islamic political group,[1] and the "world's most influential Islamist movement."[2] The Brotherhood has as its slogan "Islam is the solution."[3] It was founded in 1928 in Egypt by the Islamic scholar and schoolteacher Hassan al-Banna.
The Brotherhood's stated goal is to instill the Qur'an and Sunnah as the "sole reference point for ... ordering the life of the Muslim family, individual, community ... and state".[4] Since its inception in 1928 the movement has officially opposed violent means to achieve its goals.[5][6] Jeremy Bowen, BBC Middle East editor, calls it "conservative and non-violent,"[7] The Brotherhood condemned terrorism and the 9/11 attacks,[8][9] but whether or not it has ties to terrorism is a matter of dispute.[10]

Not to be picky... but its Islamic Extremist. There is a fine line and I could write a whole topic on it, in short, it's almost putting christians in the same category as Westboro Baptist. Nothing very extreme about the muslim faith in whole. Killing and war is by no means moral or the idea way of doing things but it is necessary.'People sleep peacefully in their beds at night, because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf " George Orwell. So you can name 50 ways a problem can be resolved without war, but society as whole cannot produce a solution."God" is only used as a pawn. The U.S has not once fought a war in the name of God. Extremist and terrorist only use religion as a type of propaganda.

Maybe not specifically in god's name, but the christian god ordained and justified the most recent wars in iraq and afghanistan through our president. Good old GW was spoken to by god, and was told to end tyranny in those countries. Both wars were motivated by religion on both sides.

Isn't this just the continuation of the crusades which were meant to restore Christian control of the Holy Land and sanctioned by the church. And it all started when the Muslims encroached upon the Byzantine empire.
