Here where I am from, we are strongly influenced by the French culture...which from as far as I can tell...drink with every meal. well..not that much, but it is just part of life. wine with supper. irish coffe for desert etc...etc.
I also remember how easy it was for me to get beer at 14 or 15. bootleggers sell it to anyone. and everyone has an older brother or sister etc.
There are very few uptight straight edge families where I am from that say NO! to any alcohol. There are a few tight baptist communites that petition local bars and drinking laws...but they are the exception here.
I'm glad I dont have to worry. I'll just buy it and drink it when ever it suits me.
