Something I've come to notice is that people point out faults in others that they are afraid of finding in themselves. I do this too. I don't think it's fair or reasonable to make such a broad generalization or such an absolute statement about so many people, especially after having met so many of us in person and learning about us and knowing that while climbing may be one of the most important things in our lives (I'm not gonna lie, it's definitely one of the most important things to me), it's definitely not all we have.

(1)True enough, I'm not gonna deny it. Climbing is very important to me. It relieves a lot of stress that I get from everyday life.
(2) Then explain to me why people react the way that they do when I disagree with their stance? I don't understand it. The only way I can logically explain their behavior is that they have constructed a paradigm. Having totally subscribed to this paradigm they refuse any other way of thinking.Even if to maintain the integrity of the paradigm they have to deny the truth.

oh yeah I almost forgot ...............fuck!

Damn Dude,

I'll never harass a man for speaking his mind, that's something you have to respect. I'll argue but that's just cause I'm right, it's a god given fact. I guess I have more problems with the post often, say little kind of posters. The internet is a big, bad, poorly moderated place and if there aren't users that speak up about shitty posts (toe=tow) and crappy threads about how someone got screwed for the weekend by whoever, or just simply posting shit that could piss people off (jackass oil workers) then everyone's standards drop. I'd rather you put a little effort into your posts. Proofread your shit! I hope to god your communication skills in other languages aren't as bad as your English.

And being the sole surviving member of Team Hippie I think I took that thing about hippie chicks personally. Hippie chicks are the best of the 32 flavors.

Again, HTH. 8)

It is "toe the line" Chuck. It is a phrase from the military. It means that in the morning at quarters when everyone musters out. They line up in formation. Someone who is not" toeing the line" is out of formation, its obvious to the casual observer.
Before you correct me get your shit straight fucking hippie

OK, time for a total thread hijack:

How do you all feel about the word "chick"? Because I read this article in a surfer book about how "chick" is a derogatory word. Now, to me, it doesn't have any negative connotations, but how about to you ladies? And if not chick, then what term should be used? Somehow, hippie women or hippie female, just don't sound right.

And, you two are hippie something’s for sure.

I don't mind the term chick. A term can only derogatate (did I just create a word??) you if you let it.

I stand (or sit drunkenly) corrected.

That's the power of a well constructed post. Proofread your shit, it's worth the extra effort.

Spray Lord: You ought to come out here in town and climb with JH - then come back to us and share your opinion BEFORE making assumptions. I am glad you speak what you think, don't get me wrong, but again, there's a time, a place for all that, and when actions of certain individuals bleed over and start affecting the entire climbing community, then again, we should say what we believe in.
Perhaps in your part of town you do not have any climbing restrictions, perhaps you have indefinite access to climbing walls - we are just the rest of the world, and we have to be careful to maintain things open instead of seeking closures.
! Enough with all that detestation ALREADY !
Smile & be thankful for what you have.
