Agreed, Sharma didn't start with the physique he has now, also obviously over time his hand strength had to improve to follow his increase in body mass. Maybe not 1:1 but I bet it is close. What I meant is that when someone comes out of thin air, they aren't shaped like Sharma or Huber, but they are either a) an adolescent that hasn't grown into their body yet or b) someone naturally super thin. It would be cool to see someone come along who just happens to have superior grip strength that is also ripped. Just to buck the trend, you know? :)

You want some spray pig-man? I broke my middle school pull-up record in 8th grade, chuffer! Whatchya think about that? 8) Of course I did have my Mom buy me a pull-up bar so I could train for such a large, wondrous accomplishment. Little did I know then that AWOL with me in a bicycle helmet bailing off of it would haunt me many years later. And don't even get me started on Monkey Bars! :)
efil lanrete... i enjoy the sound, but in truth i find this seductively backward idea to be quite frightening

I'd love to see that too, but i don't think it will ever happen.
Can't we all just get along?

I think it is more interesting that 57% of the responders climb 5.12 and up... Seems like a pre-requisite for climbing hard is joining a board like this and spending excessive time talking about climbing online.

this is a "climber site" wouldn't expect many non-climbers to chime in

LOL, no shit Sherlock :) If you were to sample all the climbers climbing at Red, I am sure that 57% would not be climbing 5.12 and up. My point is that on this climbers site, a majority of people climb hard...

More likely, if you've already wasted enough time to climb "hard" then you don't have too many interests other than climbing, and WTF it's still snowing outside goddammit etc etc.

This doesn't really hold true on other sites though... Supertopo, for instance, is composed primarily of older gay men with beer bellies who no longer rock climb.
