Really? Have you been to the other states? My guess is no, but I do agree with you on number 2.toad857 wrote:#1 kentucky ain't the south, despite the thickest accents in the entire country

I'm not sure about that, Kentucky declared itself "neutral" early on in the Civil War and eventually ended up siding with the North (despite a division in some of the southern counties). Its latitude is equivalent to Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado. I agree the culture is predominantly "southern" nonetheless. Begs the question--how does one define the "South"? Kentucky is sort of a hybrid mutt with regard to that question in my opinion.
Re: When do draws left on a warmup become booty?
Kentucky is very much a border state in terms of "Southernness." It did side with the North in the Civil War, but it also always had a much stronger culture of plantation aristocracy than other Slave States that sided with the North (West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Missouri). In "Uncle Tom's Cabin," Harriet Beecher Stowe even used Kentucky as sort of the "best case scenario" for slaves living there. Politically, Kentucky never had the same aggressive stance of "we don't need you" states' rights that places like South Carolina or Texas had, and its major political figures even before the Civil War such as Henry Clay were pretty staunch federalists. That said, today people like Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell are definitely showing that Kentucky has become more Southern in the 20th century.
As for the draws at the Solar Collector; they're probably tied up in some miscreant's basement next to a hacksaw and can of paint thinner by now. I'd call the police if I were you.

Talk about digression.... this thread started as a debate over when its legit to snag gear and is now a discussion on whether or not Kentucky is a "Southern" State.
... but yet I still find myself keeping up with the thread. =)
