Ah... your dad is just not of this world. I snuck a skin and hair sample the last time we were at the crag. The results are puzzling.

Same thing I've always done. Recently friends have opened my eyes to projecting harder grades. Looking forward to where it will lead!

Nice, maybe I need to start a new thread... Geezers that crank. Only 40 and over may submit, unless they are talking about their Dad doing V6!!! Well, my goal is to get to 13 and then just chill... kinda like Andrew ;)

You are right, my dad is a freak of nature. I don't know why I got such bad genetic code, when my dad's is godly.

I think he can still probably run a low to mid 50 second 400 meter.

That would be impressive. I'm 40 and I would struggle to do that, but I can still run a 6 minute mile and can still bench 225 for 15 reps.

Of course, none of that has translated to climbing, where I still suck and am put to shame every time I've climbed with Rick Weber (not going to out his age, but he is slightly older than I) watching him lead routes I can barely top rope, and sometimes can't even do that!

Oh yeah.... and JR is my coach now... he's awesome.
And on the third day, God created the Red River Gorge(by conjecture), and he saw that it was good.

Ok, for those who climb 13... how hard was the jump from climbing low 12's to 13a? Did you have to change how you trained? How long did it take to transition?

thanks...

Try to train with people who climb as hard as you apsire to climb, or at least like minded people pushing themselves as much as you want to push yourself.
