Help the SCC win a $250,000 Grant!

Post by weccleston »

The Southeastern Climbers Coalition asks for YOUR help to secure access to 2 excellent crags currently closed to climbing. We have entered the Pepsi Refresh Project grant competition at the $250,000 level. The winners are determined by public e-voting. If we win, and that is entirely up to YOU, the SCC will use the money to secure access to climbing areas in Alabama and Tennessee. The specific locations cannot be disclosed at this time because access hasn't yet been secured, but trust us, they're amazing properties to preserve and enjoy forevermore!

You may vote for the SCC's Land Acquisition Proposal twice per day (once via text and once via web), every single day, from November 1 to midnight November 30, 2010. Every vote is valuable and counts towards the cause! The proposal with the most votes WINS!

Please sign up for our daily voting reminder by clicking here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewfor ... RlE6MQ&ifq:

To vote twice right now, click here: http://www.refresheverything.com/seclimbers
and text "104071" to the number 73774

and THANK YOU!

Can anyone with more than 1 post verify this information or is this just a spam bot?

seems like FOMV or PMRP could have been involved in this pepsi refresh thing.

Yes this is totally legit, and the SCC is now in 26th place. top 2 at end of month get 250k. Fomv and rrgcc should try for the smaller amounts, so as not to compete with our brothers to the south. This is a great opportunity.

Pepsi has been doing this every month this year, one month at a go. It's too late to enter this month, but you guys should definitely try to get in next month, for whatever amount!

FYI - We tried to get in for October, but the 1000 entries were full in 1 second. (seriously) Have your clicking finger ready when you apply.

it sounds pretty worthy to do so....

... i mean, i can imagine our thousands of climbers putting in a few votes for us. after all, it's not a "secret" climbing area, anyway

For clarification, when I said "we tried to get in for October" I was referring to the SCC. Not sure if that was confusing or not.
