Re: Rocktoberfest Clinics
I must be missing it, but at what campground is Rocktoberfest taking place?
The campground next to the rest area?
The campground next to the rest area?
Victory Whip in da House. Yeah.
Re: Rocktoberfest Clinics
Is Kris's clinic going to consist of instructions to sell cams and clip bolts instead?
Re: Rocktoberfest Clinics
That right there is funny.
Re: Rocktoberfest Clinics
Yes. Natural Bridge Campground. Camping Friday/Saturday is included with the event. If you'd like to camp longer than those 2 nights, contact the campground directly to make arrangements.Toad wrote:I must be missing it, but at what campground is Rocktoberfest taking place?

Ha ha, funny that Shingo is teaching a clinic this year. Last time I saw him he was recovering from a 45+ meter fall on Aguja Poincenot in Patagonia... that's right, 45-plus METERS... YIKES!!!

Re: Rocktoberfest Clinics
The Footwork & Technique, Intermediate Sport, Intro to Trad, & Warrior's Way clinics are all full now and only one spot is left in the Multipitch Efficiency clinic. A few more spots are left in the Burl Like a Girl clinic w/ Audrey Sniezek. For those of you who may not know about she is a member of the US Climbing Team and has a solid background in personal training and coaching climbing - http://www.audreysniezek.com/resume/climbing_resume.htm
There is still plenty of room left in the Elite Climbing clinic with Nick Duttle. I met Nick this spring at New River Rendezvous and he is a great guy. As far as a climbing resume all I have to say is that he has climbed Esperanza. And beyond his climbing abilities Nick might be able to teach you a thing or two about perseverance - http://www.rockandice.com/articles/spot ... -the-faith

There are also spots available in Shingo's Anchor Building Clinic. Think of this one as Trad 102. Now you can place a piece comfortably and are ready to travel - unfortunately not all places have bolted anchors at the top of their sport climbs. Learn great tips and tricks from a pro! http://www.sterlingrope.com/team/67/440

Re: Rocktoberfest Clinics
At this time pre-registration for the Clinics is CLOSED. On-site registration will begin at 4pm Friday and will be a first-come first-served basis. Spots available are:
Burl Like a Girl (2 spots available) - This clinic is being taught by Audrey and offers techniques for climbing powerfully from a woman's perspective.
Advanced Climbing (3 spots available) - This clinic is being taught by Nick Duttle & will help you break into 5.12 or 5.13. Shoot - I'm sure Nick is more than qualified to even help you with your 5.14 projects if you're so inclined
Intermediate Trad & Anchor Building (8 spots available) - This clinic is being taught by Shingo. Now that you know how to place gear, learn some tricks for climbing harder in trad as well as building anchors and a few more advanced trad concepts.
When you see these athletes around, please give them a big THANK YOU for teaching these clinics. The RRGCC does not pay them to do so, and many of them go very far out of their way to be here. By donating their time, they help the RRGCC to rasie almost $3,000 to put directly towards paying off the property.
