By the way, this thread is page after page to really only say one thing... Sum it up in 4 words.

"Pinched cam, climber decks."

You guys can go back and forth all you want about the idiosyncrasies of belaying, but if the base technique is "proper" you will catch the climber 99.99999% of the time. If the base technique is crap, you're on your own.

OK OK OK OK

So I have read through this twice and I feel like I have to post this................

WHO THE F#$K BRINGS A BOOMBOX/STEREO/PLAYS ANY MUSIC TO THE CRAG??!!!!!

I know people that where headphones warming up, but seriously.

Use your damn brain, common sense and your brake hand.
Oh man, he is messing that up. However, he is missing his left leg so that way would probably be harder for him. SCIN, just before spraying some beta for a climber doing a route the WRONG way.

people who have learned at your gym goodguy and think that nusic is everywhere...lol..9I know you have sold it, but that was too easy to pass up)

it actually does go to prove that people do not climb to be out in nature....but then I say that about those who have cell phones at the crag too...like their lives are sooooo important they can not be out of touch for a day....pu-leeze...

Idratherclimb - if you can express you opinion here and expect it to be okay then you should accept others opinions too. You aren't better than anybody else. Saxman is my friend and I don't like you calling him an "asshole."

No dude have you ever climbed in the southern region, apparently not, because if you have you would of had to of climbed on perma draws which are not yours. And how many people have you ever seen at the red with double ropes and two belayers climbing a sport route, NEVER it just doesn't happen.

What are you talking about? Everybody rolls that way in the southern! It's the only way to be safe, so don't dis folks trying to be. 60% of the time, it works every time.

You've obviously never climbed at the "Unlode," dude... I saw a guy mock-leading there with three belayers, two helmets, and a crash pad made of poodle fur last week! There weren't any fixed draws, though...he was just untying at each bolt, threading the hanger, and then tying back in. He said something about "the fewer links in the system, the better."

Stellar debut, AlexAndEr... ;)
