this makes no sense.

They'll give the national parks service up to $200,000 and the park with the most votes gets $100,000. But Daniel Boone NATIONAL park is not an option to vote for. However, you can vote for Natural Bridge STATE park. strange...

I believe DBNF is a National Forest, not a National Park. Still... it would be nice if it were considered an option, wouldn't it?

If you want to vote "local" climbing vote New River Gorge or Obed.

National Parks are under the US Department of the Interior.

National Forests, on the other hand, are under the US Department of Agriculture.

I disagree Capt. The economy of the red hinges greatly (not solely of course) on tourists coming to see natural bridge. Which also brings money into other areas of the red. I.E. Cabins, climbing, paintball, guiding....etc.

Do I make sense? Sometimes I gotta ask.

Just a little clarification Coke gives matching money to the National Parks Foundation, a non-profit organization.

How in the hell does little Ocmulgee State Park in Georgia have 6,733 votes?

Yosemite has 512
Rocky Mountain has 201
Yellowstone has 1537
Great Smoky Mountains have 4232
And Blue Ridge Parkway, the National Park with the highest attendance rate in the US, has- wait for it- 238

I smell fraud...

*edit- in the time it took me to write this post, it's gone up to 6879 WTF?*
