Grrr bears and the gorge

Post by pigsteak »

I just figured we needed a fifteenth bear gorge closure thread, since everyone seems incapable of using the same one.

"Wildlife biologist Steve George says the bear was likely kicked out of its own territory by a stronger bear, and came to Sisters looking for a new place to live."

Now all we need is a bear ballad

With apologies to Johnny Horton: "Ole Slewfoot" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKcCyhUgbnY )

Out in the Gorge, tell me what do you see
Bear tracks bear tracks looking back at me.
Better get your rifle boys before its too late
The bear's got a hiker and headed outta state.

Refrain:
He's big around the middle and broad across the rump
Running ninety miles an hour taking thirty feet a jump
Ain't never been caught he ain't never been treed
And some folks say he looks a lot like Anti.

Got me an iPhone and hikin’ down the trail
Spied me a black bear and pulled on his tail.
Poked him in the eye and whacked him with my pack
Now I can’t understand why he wants me for a snack.

Refrain:
He's big around the middle and broad across the rump
Running ninety miles an hour taking thirty feet a jump.
Ain't never been caught he ain't never been treed
And some folks say he looks a lot like Anti.

The Forest Service Rangers are searchin’ high and low
Oh where oh where did that rascally bear go.
We'll chase him up the holler and run him in the dells.
Shoot him in the bottom and roast him at Miguel's.

Refrain:
He's big around the middle and broad across the rump
Running ninety miles an hour taking thirty feet a jump.
Ain't never been caught he ain't never been treed
And some folks say he looks a lot like Anti.

Look for climber guys wearing tights ... they're usually "smuggling berries"
