highline

so i met a guy at miguels he told me there is a place near the darkside to rig a highline does anyone know of this he said it is about 50 feet high and 40 feet long, if so is anyone willing to show me how to rig so i can walk it, i will also need advice on protection i am a climber so i should be covered i just dont know the ins and outs of rigging...thanks so much for any advice you have

Wow...maybe since you don't know anything about it, its good that you are willing to ask questions. I don't think online is the place to ask them though. They have a slack line rigged at miguels. Find out who rigged that thing and go from there.

I feel like its a set-up. To sacrifice yourself by posting that lame....Its too easy.

I highline walk, and rig from time to time here in Zion. You really need to do ALOT more research then you think. The amount of force that is applied to a highline rig is easily more then 3-5times that of a normal slackline which generates ~4000#s, just by walking on it (not falling on it). I have seen steel lockers blow on a highline while testing. If a person was on it...well...bye,bye

I wouldnt reccomend it without finding a competent person who has rigged multiple lines with sucess.

Reading about is NOT enough.

Just go watch "Man on Wire" and take it from there. You'll be fine.
